Junior player development is a priority for the Gawler & District Tennis Association. Significant effort goes into to providing the facilities, resources and opportunities to play necessary to support this development. A development pathway supported by our association coach is in place to get the most out of our juniors.

Gawler is part of the Lower Northern Region, one of six regions that participate in the Foundation Cup, a program designed to identify young talent in regional South Australia. Squad members get to participate in a Regional Development Day hosted by Tennis SA where players participate in coaching, nutrition, strength and conditioning sessions along with match play. The top four boys and top four girls go on to represent South Australia against the other states in a competition that leads into the Sydney International in January.
In 2012 Sam Murch successfully coached the Lower Northern Region to their first ever win in both boys and girls team competition. Two players from the Gawler Region went on to represent South Australia at the Sydney International.
If you’re interested in being part of the current Lower Northern Region squad contact the junior secretary through email firstname.lastname@example.org.
