2015 Foundation Cup Try Outs

Try Outs for the 2015 Lower Northern Foundation Cup Squad Selection will be conducted in May. Foundation Cup is the regional junior representative competition and development pathway delivered by Tennis SA for junior players in regional areas. The pathway also involves player and parent education and coach development activities.

It is with great excitement that 3 qualified and professional coaches will be involved in the program this year.

  • Andrew Waters – Clare Valley
  • Haydn Leo – Barossa / Gawler
  • Sam Clayson – Yorke Peninsula

The Squad Selection and Try Out Days will be at the following locations, days and times:

Gawler – Sunday 10th May   1pm 10 and unders, 2pm 13 and unders, 3pm 15 and unders
Kadina or Cunliffe 17th May   1pm 10 and unders, 2pm 13 and unders, 3pm 15 and unders (location yet to be decided by Sam Clayson)
Clare – Sunday 24th May   1pm 10 and unders, 2pm 13 and unders, 3pm 15 and unders

The try out days will consist of on court sessions with 2 coaches consisting of warm ups, fitness, a variety of drills, a small amount of matches and some fun activities at the end.

These try out days are for anyone so please ensure your child has the chance to have a go – you never know who else is trying out!!! give them a chance to be selected.

Cost per child per session = $10 to cover court hire, balls and equipment, travel for coaches etc etc

It is not expected for you to make every session but obviously if you do your child is committed to the program they will be given a higher chance of making the Lower Northern Squad. It will be essential that you at least make 1 training for the coaches to view current ability and determine if appropriate for the squads.

Please RSVP to Andrew Waters (0458 195 220 agw@cgvc.sa.gov.au) so coaches know what sessions you are attending and can plan accordingly. Any questions can be directed to Andrew.
